When selling our home, even though Mac met the appraiser at our house, the appraisal came in $18,000 below our contract price.  Given Mac’s local knowledge of home values Mac provided the lender with additional comparable homes sold and his written analysis, convincing the lender to order a new appraisal. Once again, Mac met the new appraiser at our house. We are very happy to say that the new appraisal came in at our contract price.
